This is a mountain view with water in the foreground. This picture is a painting comprised of squares with different artistic drawing marks (‘Mark Making’). It is sectioned off into 2” squares with each square being a separate, different artistic art making mark (#, dots, slash, etc.) until the entire composition of the painting was completed. It’s not until you look closely and see the different marks in each of this individual that you realize the amount of work going into a painting like this. The Heard Pond
The Heard Museum & Natural Science Museum in Mckinney, Tx has an abundance of wildlife walks and bird overlooks. This painting is of one of the natural ponds on the property and conveys the atmosphere quite nicely. It’s hot, muggy and the pond scum has taken over. The painting is a large piece for Color Pencil but it displays the area nicely. What I would give to go back and take my grandkids there just ‘one’ more time. This painting has a special place in my heart.
