Color Pencil Artwork
Discover the possibilities of color pencil. A refreshing and remarkable medium for those who tend to be drawn to realistic artwork. Its luminous colors and radiant potential draw everyone to its work.

Morning mist over Mexico
A soothing palette of cool colors and light haze cover the Mexico coastline.

Cactus in Bloom
This piece helped the artist receive a ‘1st Place for the Month of May 2007’ with the Plano, TX Art Association. It is a very beautifully detailed artwork created from a photo shot in a Cactus farm in Mexico.

Baby Powder
A softly done color pencil rendition of a baby elephant playing in the dirt.

Icy Colorado River
Done in stark colors, there is a definite coldness to this painting. The viewer can feel the frost coming off the water and a need to put on a jacket

The Glow of Texas Sunset on Horse
A soft palette and warm sunset colors bring this painting together. The old farmhouse was in Plano, Texas and was destroyed shortly after taking the picture. The horse was from Mount Charleston, just outside of Las Vegas.

Pink Magnolia
A softy done rendition of a Pink Magnolia.

Nevada Pasture and Grazing Horse
A lightly done background and a grazing horse complete this picture.

Utah Fawn
The fawn is beautifully captured in this Color Pencil painting.

Nikita in the Window
Not wildlife per se but a domesticated cat hiding & sleeping in the window sill.

Silverback Gorilla
A portrait of a large gorilla. The detail in this work is amazing.

Weaver’s Hippo
A very detail oriented color pencil painting of a large hippo in water. The reflection and ripples made this a fun scene to paint.

African Elephant
An Elephant in the grassy fields of Africa. A large elephant is feeding among the bright but muted colors of the grassy background. This is sure to find a place in anyone’s home.

White Tiger
A peaceful scene with a White Tiger laying down and resting. The original photo of the white tiger was painted from a photo from the Dallas Zoo in Texas. This painting itself placed in ‘2007 RCAA Members Show’ under the name “The Eating Place” for the ‘Promises - Asel Merchants Award’.

Duck Season
This painting of a Duck in water was done on Velour paper and helps create a very soft picture. This painting placed in the 2007 ‘RCAA - Over 50 Show’ for 3rd Place in Pastel/Graphics.

A long Winters Night
A detailed color pencil work of a Polar Bear atop a stone mound. This painting was done from a photo graph taken at the San Diego Zoo. The color and composition are finely tuned and this is a piece to be enjoyed by everyone.

The Owl
A color pencil painting of a large owl on a tree branch at dusk. Painted on velour paper. A very mood enhanced work of art. Soft colors and visual patterns from the owl make the piece interesting.

A study of a mother lioness taking a break from her kids (not shown). She is watching all that is going on. The attention to detail in this rendition make for an interesting piece.

Maine Sailboat
A peaceful painting of a sailboat hiding in a cove. A beautiful painting by any means. Would look great in the home or office.

A painting of the setting up of the balloons for startup. The painting captures the size of the balloons and the magnificent colors in all their glory. The painting is done on velour paper.

Sunset with Ducks
Painted with warm colors to enhance the sunset and silhouettes.

Hidden Kitty
Just an ordinary house cat hiding in that special place. He might not be a tiger but this painting is dear to my heart. Not wildlife per se but a domesticated cat hiding in the backyard bushes.

The Heard Pond
The Heard Museum & Natural Science Museum in Mckinney, TX has an abundance of wildlife walks and bird overlooks. This painting is of one of the natural ponds on the property and conveys the atmosphere quite nicely. It’s hot, muggy and the pond scum has taken over. The painting is a large piece for Color Pencil but it displays the area nicely. What I would give to go back and take my grandkids there just ‘one’ more time. This painting has a special place in my heart.

Utah Panorama
Taking a ride to Brianhead and you will find this place. The picture boasts of a scenic overview and that’s exactly what you get with this painting.
